Originally a professional ballet dancer her movement obsession started at an early age. She found out through injury the need to develop strength in the muscles and tendons surrounding the joints. Yoga provided her with the perfect answer, strengthening lesser used muscles, highlighting unevenness in her body and also teaching her how to deal with injury with grace, humour and patience. In 2008 she trained at Yoga Trinity, Australia as a hatha yoga teacher. From there she assisted in Power, Dynamic, Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga classes and started to teach her own style of yoga and movement fusing different aspects of different techniques. Over the years she has become increasingly interested in different movement techniques, particularly functional movement and how to achieve it. She uses functional conditioning techniques in order to maximise joint strength and usable flexibility. In 2017, it was a natural progression for her to qualify as a personal trainer alongside being a yoga teacher. No movement is inherently bad but in excess can cause problems. She loves working one to one to help clients become their own body expert. You will explore what your strengths and weaknesses are and work towards making your movement patterns the best they can be whilst having fun in the process.
