Elina

Yoga Teacher, Reiki Healer and Massage Therapist

I came to yoga 2 years ago seeking a change of direction in my life and to heal an old injury, a spine fractured in competitive figure skating. Gradually I built up a regular practice. The joy and transformative power of yoga started a healing process that changed my practice as well as my life outside of the yoga class.

My passion for the connection of mind, body and spirit led to further studies and ultimately a professional career in yoga and therapeutic body work. I recently completed yoga teacher training with Frog Lotus in Spain and Level 1 with Baron Baptiste in Mexico and am continuing to develop my learning by participating in further training and workshops.

I am grateful to have the opportunity to support yogis of any age and any shape on a journey towards authentic power and well-being. I treat each person as a whole and aim to bring my experience, intuition and natural joy of life to each class.

What our clients say

"I was a fan of Elina's yoga teaching from the first class, and have become her regular student as a result: her enthusiasm, skill and sensitivity make for inspired and energetic classes in an accepting and pressure-free environment."

"Two months before I started Yoga with Elina, I was seeing a physiotherapist twice a week for chronic shoulder pain. But it wasn't working - if anything, the pain was escalating and I didn't have the power to change it. I was nervous about starting yoga because I was so inflexible and couldn't touch my toes. After the first class, the pain in my shoulder was already much better I couldn't believe it. The postures started to balance and open my body up quite quickly. By the end of the first week, I didn't think about my shoulder anymore and I have never been back to the physiotherapist. If yoga only eliminated pain, that would be more than enough. But it does much more than that. Physically, it builds great muscles strenght and balance. It gives form and strength to your posture, which for me is like a miracle. It also gives you a sense of calm and focus in the mind. Yoga literally lays your mind down into your body, because you must pay total attention to the postures in order to hold them. You never really realise how much pain affects your mood and day to day activities until it goes."

"I had a serious bike accident a little while ago, my doctors first performed surgery and then recommended physical therapy. They also, without hesitation, prescribed an unending amount of pain medication along with anti-inflammatory meds. I presently take nothing except vitamin and herb supplements. My doctors would not predict my recovery, but insinuated I would not return to my pre-accident state again. They were not certain about walking, running or any other movement. I was not sure what to do at that point. My friend suggested yoga and I got in touch with Elina. Since then with a weekly regular practice and a routine to do at home, I started seeing small improvements in movement, range of motion and in particular in my level of pain. I also experienced major improvements in my mental attention and ability to focus for longer periods. I`m now able to move about, sleep, sit-up without assistance, walk, run, and presently am close to the same condition I was prior to my accident."
