I am over in the UK this year from the USA running a Charity in London and was looking for somewhere to continue my training while in the UK .I am a USA based member of the Naval and Club and in checking out the gym in the Club found that it was now run by a company called Nordic Balance. I do triathlons in the USA and was concerned that I could find a facility that would continue to push me to the extreme if needed. After a very thorough fitness assessment I was introduced to Sara Correia, one of the Nordic Balance Trainers. She is a World Champion in her own martial arts field and knows how to train and also how to teach and get the best out of her students. With humour and a requirement that one must always produce at 100%, she has run me though a series of classes working equally on cardio, weights , and core work and the result has been outstanding .The facility is also first rate. Although I train in the USA, training in London with Sara Correia has moved my fitness level significantly and this will seriously help me with my 2011 races. There has been a noticeable improvement in my overall fitness as a result of training with Sara Correia.

I'm thoroughly enjoying my training with Nordic Balance. The staff are really friendly and encouraging and the gym is well equipped. I'd stopped exercising because of pain and tension in my back and right side; I had consulted other trainers at other gyms, but it just seemed to make things worse. At Nordic Balance, we took things slowly yet steadily and after a few weeks of training, the pain eased off dramatically! The Nordic Balance team offer the full package when it comes to blitzing your fitness levels, flexibility and, most importantly your waistline! The team is small so it feels like everyone, from the yoga teacher to the personal trainers is clued up on your progress and goals. The Body Refurb package never lets you get bored, in two weeks I’d been Nordic Walking in Green Park, boxing, swimming, Personal Training and had Pilates and Yoga one-to-ones, too. Not to mention a heavenly (and well deserved!) massage from the lovely Georgina. I lost 12 inches in total, in 4 weeks. It was the best boost to my New Year regime I could have had.

Sarah is a very likeable and lively trainer. She is able to articulate her instructions well so as techniques can be learnt to the best of one's ability. Her flexible approach is excellent - always able to accommodate one's mood and energy levels. At times, I think Sara forgets that we are not perhaps quite as 'super fit' as herself and her sessions can seem to be too challenging at times!

My physiotherapist recommended I take up Pilates for ongoing shoulder and neck problems earlier this year, since then I have been working with Sharon in one-to-one sessions. Through the work I do with her, I have learnt a huge amount about my own body, my posture has improved and I am amazed at how flexible I have become. My shoulder and neck have improved beyond anything I had expected and I am now free of all pain killers. Sharon knows exactly what level to take me to and after each session I come away mentally refreshed and feeling physically energised. Sharon is patient, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and the variety that she brings to every session makes Pilates a joy to do.   The experts at Nordic Balance don’t just know their stuff, they are patient, sympathetic, flexible and understanding. I first came to them with a troublesome Achilles that threatened my marathon hopes. An Achilles problem is not the easiest; it’s one of those temperamental injuries with a mind of its own. They helped manage my recovery, gave me tips on how to avoid getting it again and were always at the end of a phone when I needed them. I couldn’t recommend them more highly!
