5 top tips for getting on the Health Wagon in 2012

New Year New YouAfter the festive period, starting your lifestyle change and getting back into good habits can be a daunting task….. Below are our 5 Top Tips to get back on the Healthy Wagon in January.

1. Plan your evening meals for the week and take your lunch in to work with you. By doing this you have more control of what you are eating and can resist the temptation to go and get fast food when you are busy in the office. Tupper wear is you new friend!!

2. Plan your workouts, whether it is with a Personal trainer, with the assistance of a gym program, or by yourself, planning your sessions will help you MAKE time to fit exercise into your daily routine.

3. Do something you enjoy! Gym workouts aren’t for everyone, but this shouldn’t be used as an excuse not to exercise. Whether it’s a gym session, a class, or an outdoor activity find something you enjoy and exercising becomes less of a chore.

4. Make small, attainable and measureable goals. An example of this would be dropping a dress/trouser size in 6-8 weeks. By doing this you give yourself something to aim for in the foreseeable future…. That you CAN achieve!!

5. Treat your new regime as a lifestyle change, NOT a diet or training. By doing this you are more likely to stick to the plan and not stray from the path. This lifestyle change should be a long term plan rather than a quick fix.
